October means Halloween

For some reason I can’t remember Halloween growing up. Well, at least not a lot of it should I say. There were times when I would make my own costume out of whatever I could find at home. But for the most part, I really liked Halloween. I guess you could say I like everything about the month of October. I like the name of the month. The weather that comes along. And most of all the decorations and costumes.

According to the dictionary, Halloween is “the night of October 31, the eve of All Saints’ Day, commonly celebrated by children who dress in costume and solicit candy or other treats door-to-door.”

I have tried my best to instill the celebration into my kids, so that when they grow up and write an article on it, they can say “My mom always let me pick out whatever costume I wanted and I loved it”. And then so the tradition can continue on with their kids and so on.

One thing I have always wanted to do and never have because of the cost, is have a big halloween party. Been to a lot of parties that were so much fun. I mean I guess if I put my mind to it and start saving like a year in advance I could make it happen, but it hasn’t happened yet. And I always put other priorities first and then before I know it Halloween is here and its to late.

Oh and last but not least, the scary movie marathons!

And the last movie of Halloween with Michael Myers comes out this year and its going to be great. I even ordered my Michael Myers shirt to wear when I go see the movie opening weekend.
